1: Plasticizing is the process of converting a polymer from its hard granular state at ambient temperature to the liquid consistency required for injection at the correct melt temperature.

2: This melt is injected into a mould to completely fill a cavity or cavities during the injection step.

3: Chilling refers to the process of reducing heat from a melt in order to return it to its original hard state. As the material cools, it shrinks as well.

4:The cooled, moulded item is ejected from the mould cavity, as well as any cores or inserts. Injection moulding is the process of repeating these basic stages in a certain order.
